Long before the training institutes, Books & web sites on testing captured our time, people used to gather at Sri Test Guru's ashram to hear his discourses. The learned Guru would allure the audience with his excellent orations into the divine world.
These Discourses were necessary off shoots with meaningful interpretations of our age old learning's in projects with ancillary explanations. Thus they became a purposeful scientific art which needed to be disclosed to as many people as possible. Luckily I have been getting a few discourses from Acharya. On Acharya's instructions to spread the enlightenment, I have embarked on this blog to help one and all. Idea conceptualized and implemented.
If you have any question that you do not find an answer for, feel free to leave a comment. Sri Test Guruji will answer them for you
[Me] :- Guruji, What's with the name?
[Guruji] :- Triage is actually a medical term used during the WW - II where the doctors would classify the wounded as - Critical( if not given treatment may die), Urgent(Can treat, will survive) , High(can take time to treat) & Low( if no treatment is given also the person will pull through).
Our Software Industry is a borrowed industry, borrowed everything from other industries. Well then this comes as no surprise that we triage the bugs based on their criticality for shipping.
[Me] :- Guruji, What's with the Color?
[Guruji] :- This is for tester's who are one tracked and warn to stay away from such testers who think they are colored - white , black & gray box testing. I see more to this, why people are talking about only "one" box ? I can see many boxes, many dimensions to model the test space ....Why don't you try to go beyond "primitive" model of "one box" ... so that you can learn more about constraints, system interactions and hence make testing more informative.
This should be the goal for all tester's.
[Me] :- Thanks Guruji, I am all excited to learn more from you...
